Restoration, Well-Being, and the 7 Types of Rest – with Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith - 164

Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith built a beautiful life. She had the family, the house, the car, everything she ever wanted. But she still felt drained every single day.

She knew she was burnt out. As a medical professional, she turned her attention to her sleep. After perfecting her sleep schedule, she found that although she was sleeping, she wasn’t truly resting.

Dr. Saundra is a board-certified internal medicine physician, work-life integration researcher, speaker, and bestselling author. She is the author of Sacred Rest, where she shares her research on the seven types of rest needed to optimize productivity, increase happiness, overcome burnout, and live a full life.

She is also the founder of Restorasis, a firm dedicated to helping companies cultivate positive well-being cultures within their teams.

On this episode of Wickedly Smart Women, Dr. Saundra joins Anjel to discuss the seven types of rest she identifies in her research and how to practice mindfulness to combat fatigue.

Listen in as Dr. Saundra shares what drove her to begin researching rest, why restoration is the key to recharging, and why many high-achievers can still function as “burnouts”.
